a little about me

the girl who loves sunflowers so much, she wrote an entire book about them.

i think words might just be the most powerful thing us humans have ever created. i know for me they are exactly that.

when i was in school, i almost failed english and everyone always laughs when i say this, as if it is so unbelievable for a poet to fail an english exam at sixteen. truthfully, poetry is so much more. poetry is raw and painfully intense, it is the creation of feelings, transcribed through the hands of someone who cannot exist without the use of words. when i write, i cry, i shake, i smile, i laugh and i cry a little bit more.

there is more to me than poetry, of course there is, but it is absolutely what has built me and saved me.

and so the girl obsessed with sunflowers and the moon and side parts has become the girl who turns her words into emotions. if i can make you relate to something you have never experienced, then i know i have succeeded.

because life would be so boring without words.

“in life, there is only missed opportunity,

and you do not want to miss

a second of this.”

— isabella dorta,

a thing i tattooed on myself to always remind me

to live life without regret.

my mother and brother.

i think i love these two humans more so than any other humans i have ever met. it is incredibly cliche and obviously eye-rolling and unfortunately candid.

they have allowed me to flourish into a person i am proud to be. i owe them my entire career, my life, my happiness.

i will thank them endlessly for giving me a home i am always happy to return to. i love you both dearly.
